Top Entertainment As Usual At HQ This Weekend

Aidan Mac
On Thur 1st October it’s Students Night again with your very own DJ Aiden Mac, so expect all that’s best and latest in dance pop and chart music.
On Fri 2nd October DJ Aiden Mac is back again spinning your favourite dance sounds and keeping you up late with all that’s popular in current sound.
The Friday night band spot is taken this week by The Big Generator a four piece rock band based in Portumna, Co. Galway.

The Big Generator
The band consists of Paul Cantillon (vocals/bass guitar), Barry Conboy (lead guitar), Liam Martin (vocals/guitars/keyboards), Alan “Mack” McEvoy (vocals/drums). The band has toured extensively in the U.K, Sweden, Holland, Germany, Belgium, America and of course their own native Ireland.
The Big Generator has also enjoyed a considerable amount of success and all of it achieved without the backing of a major label. The guys have also shared the stage with names like Ocean Colour Scene, Big County, Whitesnake and Joe Satriani to name but a few.
The Big Generator have released two albums “On The Line” and “The Unreleased” . The albums have received rave reviews in Holland and the band are signed to Green Street Records, a Dutch label.
On Sat 3rd October dance away the night with the resident HQ DJ.
The band on Saturday night is popular local indie rock innovators Minus One.
Everyone at HQ are thrilled to welcome back Minus One, a group whose way out contemporary sound continues to keep this band high in demand among it’s very well established and increasing fan base.

DJ Fitz and Friends
On Sun 4th October your DJ is DJ Fitz from Spin South West Drive Time Radio. Expect the latest dance pop and chart music from Love Queen, Elvis, Beatles, Elton John, Feddie le Grand, Justin Timberlake, Snow Patrol ……. You name it our Fitz will play it.
Sunday night sees the band Fayerweather enter the HQ arena for the first time.
This five piece Country Rock/Bluegrass band are a ‘must see’ live band. So if Country Rock/Bluegrass is up your street, then come down to HQ this Sunday night to see, listen and be part of what promises to be one almighty shindig.

A Long Weekend At HQ So Let’s Party.

DJ Fitz
On Fri 25th September – Your DJ for the evening is the counties No1 Music Maestro himself DJ Fitz, so expect all the latest in dance pop and chart music.
Also on Friday night is the fabulous band Tradalsa on their first visit ever visit to HQ. Expect to see a lot more new and exciting bands make their appearence at HQ over the coming months.
On Sat 26th Setember – Your DJ for tonight is DJ Cozmic, playing you into the midnight hours with his own very special blend of chart hits.
Also on this Saturday night is the popular band XHAIL. Formed in 2008, XHAIL play a mix of classic rock from the likes of AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, Pink Floyd, Whitesnake & ZZ Top through to modern classics from the likes of Audioslave, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kings of Leon & U2.

This band is made up of five experienced musicians – Camillus onVocals, Alan on Bass & Vocals, Cathal on Drums & Percussion, Tommy on Guitar and Ian on Guitar & Vocals.
On Sun 27th September – Your DJ tonight is the popular DJ Aidan Mac.
The live band spot on Sunday night sees the welcome return of Force 10.
Force 10 play music from the 1960’s, 70’s, 80’s & 90’s rocking to the music of Roxy Music, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Horslips, Tom Petty, Rory Gallagher, Thin Lizzy, Steve Earle, Lynard Skynard, Neil Young, Bob Segar, INXS, The Yardbirds and many more truely great artists.

Another Weekend Of Top Entertainment At HQ

On Fri 18th September Your DJ for the evening is the music master himself DJ Fitz. DJ Fitz works on the Spin South West drive time radio show Spin Hits!
Friday is a Traditional Irish Music Night in Molly’s Bar, so grab your bodhrán,banjo, bagpipes, bouzouki or whatever you play and join in the session. Note there is a free bar before 10.30pm.
On Sat 19th Setember your DJ for tonight is HQ’s very own Top Radio DJ Aidan Mac, as always keeping you informed & up to date with all that’s popular in the music charts.

On Sun 20th September Our DJ for tonight is Shay, playing all your new dance chart R’n'B, Club Classics and Party Favourites for your complete night’s entertainment.
The live band on Sunday night sees the welcome return of Jester, winners of this years ‘Battle Of The Bands’ competition beating over 500 other entrants at the Sea Sessions Festival.
Using catchy melodies & interesting arrangements from lead guitarist Tommy Maher accompanied by dark lyrics from front man Colin Demspey, Jester is described by Hotpress as “players of hard rock with confidence, style and a punky attitude who know how to take a song on the town & show it a good time”
Released in May 2007 Jester’s debut single “Maria” enjoyed success with a chart place and extensive airplay. Today FM’s Ian Demspey was the first DJ to spin the release. “Maria” also topped the DownloadMusic.ie chart for two weeks, a feat that was achieved a few months later again when “Scream” was digitally released.

Deuces Wild
Also on Saturday night we have Ireland’s Top Cover Band Deuces Wild a four piece rock/pop band from Cork who have established themselves in Ireland, England & Wales over the last eight years as one of the most sought after bands in these countries.
Described as a “Designer Label in Music”, the Deuces Wild band was formed in 1998, in County Cork, by lead guitarist Johnny Noonan and band manager Seamus Ryan. After 2 years of succesful touring the band won the “Niveta Song Contest” in 2000, with their Top 30 hit ‘Carry My Tears’.
In 2004 they won the “Killarney Summerfest Band Competion” going on to later support one of New York’s greatest Pop/Rap acts the ‘Fun lovin’ Criminals‘ at their concert in the INEC in Killarney.
On Sun 13th September – Your DJ for tonight is Brian Young. Brian is the much loved presenter of the SPIN Saturday show on Spin Southwest Radio which delivers ’10 Spin Hits in a Row’, together with all the latest music and entertainment news that will get you into dancing mode.

Domino Effect
Your band for Sunday night is that ever popular rock covers band from Kilkenny and yes you’ve guessed it, who else but Domino Effect back in HQ again, by popular demand. Check out Domino Effect here!
The Domino Effect are masters of entertainment, producing an energetic and fun performance for your enjoyment. Expect to hear songs from artists such as The Police, U2, Kings of Leon, Coldplay, Bon Jovi and lots, lots more!

Futurism
The band for Sunday night is the ever popular Cashel based group Futurism.
Once again, on their first ever visit to HQ, these four rock musicians, Eddie Ryan, (Guitar and Vocals) Ray Ryan, ( Skins) Evan White ( Bass) & Darcy (Vocals) are no strangers to the music scene, having successfully played together full time, since 2006.
On Mon 7th September – Whether we win loose or draw on Sunday in Croke Park, there is going to be a mighty party. We must show our full support & celebrate the return of our Counties Hero’s, the Tipperary Senior Hurling Team 2009. It’s your chance to get up close & personal with these giants of hurling and with a bit of luck, get a close up of a certain piece of silverware, they might just have in their possession.
Whether or not, to celebrate their return home, who better to provide the celebratory Music, Swing & Crack, than Top Radio DJ Aiden Mac himself.

Una Healy Of The Saturdays Visits HQ Nightclub

A gigantic treat was in store for patrons of the No1 nightclub in Thurles – HQ Nightclub - last Saturday, when music sensation Una Healy of the five piece girl pop band The Saturdays dropped in, while on a short visit to her native town. 
Watch out for The Saturdays brand new single “Forever Is Over” due to be released on October 6th next. The song was produced by Sam Watters and Louis Biancaniello, the same hit factory behind several tracks off of Kelly Clarkson’s “All I Ever Wanted” and Jordin Sparks,”Battlefield”.

Una enjoyed a celebratory glass of champagne with the Hayes and Quinn (HQ) families before joining other club members & patrons on the dance floor. Oh boy, can she dance!
